Materials:

•      Coordinating prints: 2 charm packs – or (72) 5” squares

•      Background solid: 2 charm packs  – or (72) 5” squares

•      Backing: 3 ½ yds

•      Binding: 5/8 yd

•      Batting

•      Coordinating thread (cotton preferred but all purpose polyester works fine)

 Students enrolled in this class can purchase materials at Fabrics N Things at a 10% discount.  Please make purchases prior to start of class.

Estimated class time: (4) 2 hour classes – assuming students have basic sewing knowledge and materials have been pre-cut

Class 1:

•      sew (24) print/solid/print strips

•      sew (24) solid/print/solid strips

•      press seams

•      sew (8) Block As

•      press seams

•      sew (8) Block Bs

•      press seams

Class 2:

•      sub cut Block As

•      sub cut Block Bs

•      sew (8) Block 1’s

•      press seams

•      sew (8) Block 2’s

•      press seams

Class 3:

•      sew (4) alternating blocks into a row and sew (4) rows together

•      press seams

•      sew back panels together

•      make quilt sandwich (use pins or basting spray)

•      machine quilt (stitch-in-the-ditch technique)

Class 4:

•      finish machine quilting, if necessary

•      cut, stitch and press binding

•      sew binding to quilt, instructing how to sew corners

•      hand stitch binding to back of quilt (can finish this step at home)
